Indiana Nutrient Management Tool – Small Farms and Gardens
The Indiana Nutrient Management Tool assists with fertilizer recommendations and application rates of fertilizers, compost and other fertility products for the more commonly grown vegetables and produce found in Indiana. The tool allows for recommendations to be based on your soil tests results or custom entries. The data, math and recommendations are derived from Michigan State University’s Nutrient Recommendations for Vegetable Crops in Michigan, Purdue University resources, and the New England Vegetable Management Guide. The tool provides a framework for nutrient applications, but consider your soils, climate, cropping system, and nutrient sources to make holistic decisions. Additional training material is forthcoming.
This tool was developed by the Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District in partnership with the USDA-NRCS-Indiana, Urban Soil Health Team, and with input from local growers and Purdue University professors.
The USDA-NRCS and its partners are equal opportunity provider, employer, and lenders.
