The 54th Annual Meeting of the SWCD was held on February 20th, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church in conjunction with the Bethany Community Garden’s community garden class. The event was an overwhelming success with 99 attendees who enjoyed a catered meal from Yammallama Deli prior to the meeting and featured speaker Jo Ellen Myers Sharp (AKA “The Hoosier Gardener”). The delicious meal was sponsored by Marion County Farm Bureau. The meeting included a wonderful presentation by Jo Ellen as well as the district business meeting and election of board supervisor Owen Dwyer. A certificate of appreciation was presented to our outgoing board member Olivia Speckman. We look forward to future collaboration with Bethany Community Garden and Marion County Farm Bureau as we look ahead to our 55th Annual Meeting in 2025!
