Come celebrate the 55th Annual Meeting of the Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District!

The SWCD welcomes you to a catered dinner, SWCD program and business updates, and a guest presentation. This annual meeting is hosted in collaboration with the Bethany Community Garden’s first garden club of the year.
Our Guest Speakers:
The R.B. Annis School of Engineering at the University of Indianapolis offers a distinctive, hands-on engineering education that emphasizes real-world problem-solving and interdisciplinary collaboration. The school’s innovative DesignSpine program integrates project-oriented courses in which students work in teams to tackle real challenges presented by actual clients, gaining practical experience and developing solutions that have tangible impacts. In 2023-2024, an enthusiastic student team assisted the SWCD to design and build a tool which can be used on small farms to terminate cover crops in a crop rotation, resulting in the best sophomore project award and a feature in the Indianapolis Business Journal. Dr. Dharmarthne of UINDY and the student Crimper Team will share their experiences with the DesignSpine program and the steps taken to execute this project
